Car Dealers Lose 50% of Traffic

New Car dealers in Atlanta, Georgia are seeing 50% less traffic from year ago levels.  The showrooms are dead and car dealers need to sell cars.

Some new car dealers say this is the best time in history to buy cars because they want to give away the new cars with zero interest loans to move inventory.

The public is worried about GM and Chrysler filing bankruptcy.

Remember when you go to the new car dealer and see the sticker prices of new cars the experienced salesman will agree with you and tell you to look at a few pre owned cars to save money.

The problem is the salesman will make a huge commission on used cars sold and you can’t do the research on the new/used car dealers lot.

If buying a new car you will see rows of cars with MSRP in the window and all are priced in a tight range.

With used cars you have so many variables to consider like 2 cars same year, make and model but one has 30,000 more miles and leather with heated seats.  Unless your experienced you will have no idea what you should pay.

Most used cars are marked up at least $3,000 to $5,000 higher than what the dealer paid.

Then they can play the game and offer you $1,500 or $2500 more for your junk car but they marked the car up by $5,000 so are they really giving you $2,500.  No, they will still make a profit of $2,500 on you so you better be careful when you go to the new car dealer.

If you find a used car you like take notes and go home and do some research at KBB.com trade in value and see what the car is worth the range.  Then you will be in a better position to buy the car and not get ripped off.

Tip: Go to your bank and ask them what the loan value is for the car you want to buy and will give you a ballpark area you should pay.
