Chrysler plans to eliminate franchise agreements

Chrysler plans on eliminating franchise agreements with U.S Chrysler Dealers as part of its restructuring efforts.

Today, Chrysler notified all its dealers about its plans to eliminate 25 percent of its retail showrooms and wants permission from the Bankrupcy courst to terminate franchise agreements. If approved 789 or 3,181 dealerships will terminate as of June 9, 2009.

Chrysler dealers are very upset because they have committed large amounts of money in acquiring and building up there franchise to only get a slap in the face.
